Pietro Valente was born in Padua (Italy) on April 29th 1982. He started to play drums at the age of 8 and when 15 he was already performing with rock bands in the city clubs.
In 2001 he entered Università della Musica di Roma and he graduated with best grades in 2006, at Umbria Jazz Workshop the same year he had been chosen as best drummer to perform at the 2006 Umbria Jazz Winter festival and few weeks later he was the only drummer who won the scholarship at Siena Jazz Clinics.
He performed in Europe, United States and Asia, at: Umbria Jazz Winter, Taichung Jazz Festival, Kaushung Lantern Festival, Porsche Jazz Festival, Shanghai JZ Festival, International Music Meeting, Veneto jazz, Festival di Verdura, Noto in Jazz, Vicenza jazz, Shenzhen Jazz, etc.
In 2007 he recorded three CDs with top jazz musicians in Taiwan for the Better Music of Taipei, and the CD “Reflection” won the “2009 GOLDEN MELODY AWARD” as “Best Instrumental Album”.
In 2010 his first album as a leader “Tales from the Far East” was published by Freecom and produced by “Circolo Jazz Verona”, an association who chose Pietro in 2009 as young Italian talent of the year.
In 2012 he presented his album in a 10 dates tour in China and Taiwan with a total audience of about 100.000 people.
In 2014 he released his new album “Entering The New Era” which is a top pick of 2014 for All About Jazz USA.
From 2015 to 2018 he’s been part of Mizform, a collective of some of the most talented musician in Europe, America and Asia. With this group they toured many countries including: Taiwan, Germany, Austria, United States, Czech Republic and Spain.

Pietro Valente nasce a Padova il 29/04/1982, inizia a suonare la batteria all’età di 8 anni e già quindicenne si esibisce nei locali padovani suonando con gruppi rock.
Diplomato con il massimo dei voti all’Università della Musica di Roma nel 2006, vince nello stesso anno il premio Umbria Jazz Berklee Award Group, che gli permette di esibirsi nella versione invernale del festival a Orvieto, ed è l’unico batterista ad aggiudicarsi la borsa di studio ai seminari di Siena Jazz 2006.
Vincitore, con l’album “Reflection” registrato con il quartetto di Suchi Wu per la Better Music in Taiwan, del 2009 GOLDEN MELODY AWARD nella categoria “Best Album”. Vanta collaborazioni con alcuni dei migliori musicisti italiani (Pietro Tonolo, Bruno Tommaso, Paolo Birro…) ed internazionali (Roy Patterson, Irene Atman, Joel Holmes, Alec Haavik…) e in importanti festival (Umbria Jazz Winter, Taichung Jazz Festival, Micro Festival – Dortmund, Kaushung Lantern Festival, Porsche Jazz Festival, Shanghai JZ Festival, International Music Meeting, Shenzhen Jazz Festival, Veneto jazz, Noto in Jazz, Festival di Verdura – Palermo, Vicenza Jazz…).
Il suo progetto “Storie dal Lontano Oriente” (in quartetto con Michele Polga al sassofono, Marco Ponchiroli al pianoforte e Danilo Gallo al contrabbasso), nel quale esegue composizioni originali ispirate ai suoi viaggi ed esperienze in Asia, è stato prodotto da Umberto Bonani del Circolo Jazz Verona (premio destinato al miglior giovane talento dell’anno 2009), registrato nel disco “Tales from the Far East”, pubblicato per l’etichetta Freecom nel gennaio 2010 e recensito entusiasticamente dalle maggiori riviste e siti di jazz.
Nel 2012 effettua un tour di 10 concerti di presentazione del disco in Taiwan e Cina con un pubblico totale di più di 100 mila persone.
Nel 2013 registra il suo nuovo disco “Entering The New Era”, un album di 12 brani originali da lui composti che rappresenta musicalmente l’attuale periodo storico. L’album è stato inserito tra i migliori album del 2014 da All About Jazz U.S.A.
Dal 2015 al 2018 con il progetto Mizform che unisce alcuni dei migliori talenti di America, Europa e Asia ha effettuato numerosi tour in Taiwan, Germania, Austria, Stati Uniti, Repubblica Ceca, Spagna.
Dal 2019 lavora anche come arrangiatore e compositore di colonne sonore per il cinema.
Nel 2022 pubblica il suo primo metodo didattico per batteria intitolato “Learn Drums The Video Game Way”.
